Athenean black- figure amphora, depicting a fisherman bringing his catch to market in two sphyris, large woven baskets hanging from a pole. The fisherman wears a pilos, a cap-like headgear without a visor, often made of felt, but also of fur or leather. This cap was mainly used by craftsmen.
On the left side, a dog with high legs can be seen, on the right side of the wearer, a vendor lays down his fish for presentation.
